A member asked:

My doc told me that sertraline improve cognitive functions more than any other antideppresant due to dopamine effect . is this true ? if it is , how ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

He may be right: Zoloft (sertraline) has shown improvements in cognitive function in a number of patient types and this improvement appears to due to its dopaminergic activity in the frontal lobes (which are responsible for higher cognitive functions). It is also independent of the improvement in the underlying illness itself in ocd patients. But, have comparative studies against other antidepressants been done?http://www.ncbi.
