Maybe: Your digestive tract is essentially one long tube with various chambers and an outlet. Burping can help reduce air from entering and adding to the gas created by germs that digest your food. You will never eliminate bowel gas by belching, since so much of it is made further in, but may help a little. Avoiding foods you know make you gassy would have a greater effect.
