I suspect that you're continually making yourself burp and this causes you to keep swallowing air. It's a vicious cycle. Avoid the urge to burp. Drinking hot water breaks down gas bubbles so they can proceed down the intestinal tract & out the rectum. Avoid gassy foods& beverages. Taking simethicone 1/2 hour after meals prevents gas buildup.

Burping and flatulence are both common symptoms which usually do not indicate any serious illness. If they are a change in your usual bowel pattern and they persist, however, you should talk it over with your primary care doctor. You might want to try antacids or increasing your fiber intake in the meantime. Good luck.
