What are the symptoms of a collapsed vein?

No flow: I assume you mean a vein that recently had a needle or iv. Veins may collapse or blow when fluid goes through them or blood is drawn from them. Phlebitis, inflammation of the vein, or a lumpy spot called a thrombosis may result. Neither is serious. Both are treated with warm compress and advil or tylenol (acetaminophen) for pain.

I have v difficult veins for ivs, even if they get one they collapse asap. I need iv fluids soon, how unreasonable is it to ask for a different sort of access? I just know I don't want another 6 in 24 hours that all collapse?
