Recurrent BV: Recurrent BV can be a sign of immunodeficiency or dmor do recurrent infections. Talk to your doctor to identify predisposing factor. Prolonged use of antibiotics do have adverse effects.

Bacterial vaginosis: It should not be necessary to take medication for BV continually. If this is not clearing up satisfactorily with the treatment you are receiving you may be becoming recolonized with these organisms by your sexual partner, and this should be discussed with your ob/gyn doctor. Depending upon the treatment there is a possibility it may interfere with sperm viability.
