Premedication: Ask the anesthesiologist for some pre medication like xanax (alprazolam) or versed. Remember, anesthesia is remarkably safe!

Anesthesia consult: Ask to be evaluated well in advance of your surgery by the anesthesiologist. They will discuss your anesthesia concerns and describe your plan. You can be made quite comfortable and should do very well. Best of luck- try not to worry.
