Hyperventilation: Anxiety or panic attacks do sometimes occur in the form of hyperventilation, where the person cannot get control of their rate of breathing and breathe really fast. This can cause dizziness and tingling in the mouth or face due to the loss of CO (carbon dioxide). Breathing into a bag causes the person to take in more carbon dioxide which helps limit the attack.
