Days, maybe weeks: There is some variability here. Sometimes intravenous glucocorticoids only last a few hours. Other injections, notably DepoMedrol (methylprednisolone) can last longer when injected into areas thick with fat cells. Also consider that often orthopedic steroid injections (into joints) are used to treat local problems, but they also are absorbed into the system and can cause effects throughout the body.
