Is it possible for you to estimate height from childs shoe size?

Not reliably: The expected height of a child is the average of the parents height plus 2.5 inches if a male and minus 2.5 inches as a female. That general statement has more predictive value than a childs shoe size.

Somewhat: The growth plates of the foot close before the ones of the legs and spine, and this usually occurs at age 14 in girls and 15-16 in boys. An x-ray of the foot and leg can help determine how much more growth the foot and the leg have, which can give an approximate estimate of the height. 60% of height is from the leg and foot.
