A member asked:

Hello docs. i was wondering can ulcers rupture and cause internal bleeding?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Bleeding duodenal ulcers are caused by the ulcer eroding through the back wall into the gastroduodenal artery. Perforations in the front part of the duodenum or stomach usually cause free air with intense pain, but usually do not bleed significantly.
