YES...: Zyrtec is a long acting non sedating allergy medicine. You can give Benadryl (diphenhydramine) for short period of time if there is exacerbation of allergy state. Zyrtec 5 mg once daily, Benadryl (diphenhydramine) 12.5 mg (one teaspoonful) 2-3 times daily as needed.
