Testing for HIV: Most elisa tests looking for the individuals production of antibodies after exposure to HIV will turn positive at 2 weeks after exposure. Newer tests are even more sensitive. Testing must be continued routinely however, if the high risk behavior for which you were initially tested continues! for a single exposure we still recommend retesting at 6 months after exposure.
