Laparoscopic repair: Depending on the location of the hernia (inguinal vs umbilical vs incisional), some of these can be repair laparoscopically, in other words using minimally invasive abdominal surgery approach. (arthroscopy involves the joints). You should check with your general surgeon to see whether he/she performs laparoscopic hernia repairs and whether you are a candidate.
