Absolutely: That volume of water intake is very healthy. Good for your kidneys, bladder, skin and voice. Also reduces obesity by reducing calory intake because your stomach is never empty.

You don't unless....: If you have kidney stones you need to drink in excess of 8 glasses a day. If you have no stones you do not need to drink much unless you lose much i.e. Profuse sweating, diarrhea, plying sport, recent vomiting.
