A member asked:

Help please! could celiacs go into remission during pregnancy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: If you have been diagnosed with celiac's and are pregnant, please continue to eat gluten free to ensure appropriate nutrition for your baby. There are no studies regarding the effects of circulating celiac antibodies during pregnancy that i can find. However, many recent studies suggest higher rates of autism in children of celiac mothers. Give your baby the best prenatal environment possible.
