Brain problem: Sounds like tmj. Have you been diagnosed with a brain problem? Please see your dentist or md to get a full diagnostic work up. Tmj will send pain to the ear and the jaw.

They could...: .. But chances are you don't have a brain problem. More likely, you are grinding your teeth or have dental issues. Start with visiting a dentist to be evaluated, and then move on to the medical specialists if the problem persists.

Perhaps but: If you had a tumor in the part of the brain that innervates the jaw, possible. But by far a more likely situation is a TMJ problem. See an oral surgeon or TMJ expert for assessment/recommendations.
