In association with: Calcifications could be in association with cancer. Calcifications can not turn into cancer themself. Calcifications- deposition of calcium oxalate, for example. Calcifications are not benign and not malignant. They can be present in association with benign or malignant tissue, for example in breast tissue. Because calcifications are seen on ultrasound, biopsy can be performed.
