Hard to say: You could have a bone spur but that would usually be painful. I would see either a podiatrist or an orthopedist who specializes in feet. The use of orthotics in your shoes may help. Also try to wear soft soled shoes if you are not doing so at the present time.

Metatarsalgia: What you are describing is probably metatarsalgia or pain under the head of one of the metatarsals. It may be due to a "dropped" metatarsal, swelling(bursae) or the start of a plantar plate injury. Often it is caused by a plantars wart under the weight bearing portion of your forefoot. Get it checked out if it worsens or starts to cause a reactive callous in the area.

Ball of foot: If you feel this sensation it is most likely the beginnings of a neuroma. Look up Mortons neuroma and see if the symptoms apply to you. If gets worse see a podiatrist. Good Luck
