DMARDs: Methotrexate is part of a group of medications called dmards(disease modifying anti-rheumatic drugs). There are other medications in this group including hydroxychloroquine, sulfasalazine, and biological medications. Consult with the gp/rheumatologist regarding these medications if Methotrexate is not working.

Many meds possible: There are many medications for ra, but it is proper to start with methotrexate. Some of these are prescribed primarily by rheumatologists.
