It Can Be Fast: 60-80% of vipomas are malignant and have metastasized by the time of diagnosis. Diagnosis usually takes years because of the insidious onset. They are also associated with men-1 (multiple endocrine neoplasm) syndrome, which is associated with other cancers of the pituitary and parathyroid glands.
