A member asked:

Is it possible for enzymes to go up after heart attack and not sustain damage bc not total blockage?

Yes it is: Cardiac enzyme leak out of the heart muscle when damage/bruising occurs. Therefore, it does not need a total blockage of the coronary for enzymes to increase. The level of increase may correlate sometimes with the surface area of the damage but not always.

Cardiac enzymes : Rise in cardiac enzymes is a sign of heart muscle cells dying. Depending on the extent of damage, this may or may not result in significant change or impairment in overall cardiac function.
