Talk to MD: The nerves from you spine travel along the edge of the ribs to the xyphoid process, so any inflammation or irritation of the nerve at that level will feel like pain along the distribution of that nerve. Keep in touch with md to make sure nothing else is going on, but the rib pain diagnosis seems accurate based on this information.
