Not necessarily: Yes, you should go to your doctor, and get tested for gout, inflammatory joint issues and regular arthritis. But the most common cause of this sort of toe pain is bad shoes, like high heels. If this is possible, a trial with comfortable flats could turn this around. James dillard, md.
