NO: As you now know, you can get varicose veins in places besides on hour legs. Most likely the vein is incompetent which means it does not drain the blood like it should. The vein dilates and the venous congestion is a likely source of your pain. This can be treated and the diagnosis confirmed in a catheterization procedure. You need further evaluation by a vein specialist that treats this.

Pelvic congestion?: There is a process called pelvic congestion syndrome which can cause abdominal and pelvic discomfort due to increased venous pressure in the ovarian veins. This is a result of malfunctioning valves in the ovarian veins. It is difficult for an ultrasound to see the ovarian veins and usually a specialized ct scan is necessary to make the diagnosis. You should see a gynecologist or a vein specialist.

Varicose vein: there is a syndrome cold ovarian vein reflux, also known as pelvic congestion, or nutcracker syndrome. Management would depend upon symptoms and often times embolization of the reflux point can be performed to treat the issue if necessary. A diagnostic MR venogram of the area would be very helpful
