ADHD is a chronic: Condition affecting attention, concentration, impulse control, working memory, relationships, work, etc. Some people may overcome their condition with non-medication measures but medication is often necessary. Normalized function is the goal. If you can function well without med at times then it is not necessary to take med at those times. Discuss with prescriber to develop plan. Best regards.

Depends: Some of these meds require a 4-6 week build up & stabilization period & should be used daily. Some of the stimulant forms, particularly in kids, are frequently limited to school days unless the degree of ADD requires daily use. This is a treatment variation that you should work out with you doc who has all the relevant information to help make that determination.
