Could be : Depending on where the inflammation is in the abdomen you can have pain radiating down towards the groin. If this is new and progressive pain you should reach out to your treating doctor as this could suggest that your diverticulitis isn't optimally responding to your antibiotics.

Possible Abscess: Diverticulitis can cause an abscess on the outside of the intestine. This often walls off in minor cases will usually respond to antibiotics, but may need to be intravenous. An abscess can also rupture and require more invasive treatment in a hospital. It is time to go back to your doctor.
