A member asked:

It is said that cymbalta's serotonin to norephinephrine is 1:1..does that make it an even ratio...and is it then stronger/weaker than effexor/pristiqe?

Even: Cymbalta has a balanced/even effect on serotonin and norepinephrine, 1:1 ratio of blocking reuptake of both molecules. Technically, that would make it weaker than effexor, (venlafaxine) which has roughly 3:1 norepinephrine to serotonin reuptake inhibition . Clinically however, they are both beneficial for many similar diagnoses, it's just a matter of finding out which is better for each individual. Good luck!
