Which one?: Daily Forteo injections are fairly safe but can cause high calcium and dizziness. (risk of bone tumor is likely nil.) twice yearly Prolia has a small risk of skin rashes and infections plus rare jaw osteonecrosis. Yearly infusions of Reclast (zoledronic acid) and quarterly IV Boniva can cause muscle aches and rare jaw osteonecrosis. Ask your doctor about whether the benefits outweigh these risks.

Fairly safe: Please understand despite out different medications, there is no vure for osteoporosis. There is good treament however. The injectable medications which include daily forteo, twice yearly Prolia injections, every three month IV Boniva and yearly IV reclast (zoledronic acid). All the medications have risks but most are well tolerated. Cost may be an issue on what drug may be chosen. Please talk with your physician.
