Should make it easie: Chronic Methadone use lowers your anesthetic requirements but paradoxically increase the amount of post op pain meds you need. You should be forthcoming with a list of all your meds! if you withhold information unexpected problems can arise which can be life threatening. Tell your provider you don't want this information spread beyond your medical record. They should respect your privacy.

No: Methadone won't interact with inhaled anesthetics. If you are having a painful procedure where you would need additional pain meds or post procedure pain meds, the Methadone will be an issue. It's always best to be upfront with your physician. They're not your friends, they don't care about your drug problem, chronic pain, etc. They just want to provide good medical care and need the truth.
