Serum ferritin level is 189 (i am a 56yo female). other then hemachromatosis, what else can cause this? can it be related to thallasemia (son has it)?

Ferritin levels: Chronic infection, rheumatoid arthritis or some malignancies can cause an elevated ferritin level. Check with your doctor for help.
