Very rare: This would be a very rare event with escitalopram (cipralex), but was listed as a potential side effect in the initial package insert. A recent publication listed liver injury as a possible side effect with nearly every antidepressant except escitalopram: http://tinyurl.Com/lngow4c in most cases, this was reversible on stopping the medication.
