Is restoril (temazepam) a good choice for an 87 years old advance alzheimer's patient who is very aggressive and does not sleeps?

Possibly: However, the risk would be an increase in falls, and the dose would need to be fairly low. Trazodone would probably be a better option, dosed very low and gradually increased until effective without next day sedation. BP would have to be watched. Agitation may also respond to depakote, especially if there is some underlying psychosis with the agitation. Restoril (temazepam) is unlikely to help with agitation.
