Ventricular or supraventricular tachycardia. what's the difference?

Heart chamber: Ventricular tachycardia originates from the main pumping chambers of the heart (either the left or right ventricle). It often occurs in people with underlying abnormalities of one of the main pumping chambers, and may at times be life-threatening. Supraventricular tachcardia originates in one of the upper chambers of the heart (left or right atrium), and may occur in normal or diseased hearts.

Origin, prognosis: Supra-ventricular tachycardia originates in the upper chambers of the heart (atria) and ventricular tachycardia in the lower chambers (ventricles). In very general terms, ventricular tachycardia may carry a more worrisome prognosis than its supra-ventricular counterpart but in many cases both types can be treated and in some cases (particularly supra-ventricular) can be "cured".
