Yes: When patients take antibiotics for infections such as helicobacter pylori, i often have my patients take probiotics. Antibiotics can reduce the healthy natural flora in the gastrointestinal tract and probiotics can restore the flora.

Yes: It may be helpful to separate the timing of the doses of antibiotic and probiotic by at least two hours if possible. One particular strain of probiotic, saccharomyses boulardii, has been studied particularly for use during and after a course of antibiotics.

Yes: But they may not help too much. It is sometimes helpful to take probiotics after antibiotics, to assist your digestive tract in returning to good function.

Yes: Probiotics have many benefits; especially while taking antibiotics and for a short while thereafter. They would help repopulate your intestines with the "good bugs" that may get affected with the needed antibiotics...

Yes: Probiotics are safe to take with antibiotics. However, the antibiotics kill the probiotics so taking them after the antibiotic is complete may make them more effective.

Yes: Probiotics are safe and even recommended to take with antibiotics. However, they should be taken as far apart from the antibiotic doses as possible so the antibiotics do not kill the probiotics immediately. For twice-daily antibiotics (taken am and pm), lunchtime probiotics is ideal. For once-daily antibiotics (am or pm), probiotics should be taken at the opposite end of the day (pm or am).

Yes: Yes probiotics are very safe to take with antibiotics and in fact i would recommend that all patients take these with antibiotics unless you have a significant allergy to them.
