should i take antibiotics and probiotics at the same time?

1 doctor answer
Dr. H Robert Silverstein
Specializes in Cardiology
Yes and no: when u take the antibiotics, wait a couple of hours to take the probiotics, otherwise the antibiotics will kill the probiotics. The way I tell patients is "if you take the antibiotics at 8 in the morning and 8 in the evening, take the probiotics at noon and bedtime." I am available for consultation on HealthTap for various issues. H Robert Silverstein M.D. FACC.Recommended reading www.thepmc.org
