I don't believe so.: A microwaved potato is often used for a sty (which is an infection). However, facial edema/pain from dental cause - needs urgent dental intervention.

NO, See Dentist ASAP: A black eye and facial edema are signs of a serious infection. You need to be seen for proper treatment asap. Do not fool around with this! if you can not get to your dentist then head to the emergency room.
