Tell your OB: Please tell your OB physician about this asap. You need help for your depression, whether or not you decide to keep your baby. At 5 weeks pregnant you have choices which can be considered. Also treatment of depression is very possible and essential in pregnancy. Psychiatrists and OB doctors often work together in such situations -- psychologists also. Please don't wait to tell your doctor!

Counseling: Do this soon so you have time to explore all of your options. Find an appropriate to you counselor. If you mean severely depressed it ought to be either a clinical psychologist or a psychiatrist, since that might avoid serious post-partum depression if you carry to term. Reach out : To a therapist to address the depression and search for support systems to help you plan your future. They can help you to figure out how to manage becoming a single parent. Sometimes family members change their attitude when a child is born. Churches and other organizations can help as well. As difficult as it is to decide, you can explore the option of finding adoptive parents for your child.
