A member asked:

Is it safe for my mother to use himalayan salt in place of table salt with high blood pressure? she is taking bp meds and a diuretic.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Salt is salt: Himalayan salt sellers claim it is the 'purest' and helps regulate the water in your body. Anyone with high blood pressure should (or without !) should keep slat intake(any kind) to a minimum. No more then 3 grams a day(for non hypertensives) and probably closer ot 2 grams a day for hypertensives is healthy.
