Burning Tongue Synd.: Could be herpetic viral syndrome or burning tongue/mouth syndrome. The latter manifests itself as a burning sensation of the tongue, lips, gums and is thought to result from disrupted sensory nerves to the area, or as a sequelae to host of other things: trauma, hormone changes, dry mouth, meds, etc. Check this link: http://www.Mayoclinic.Com/health/burning-mouth-syndrome/ds00462/dsection=causes.
