Why am i having back pain when bending or straightening?

Muscular strain: Depending on how long this has been going on and what other symptoms are present the diagnosis can vary. It is likely due to muscle strain or deconditioning. Physical therapy is always the initial treatment along with anti inflammatory medications. If it does not resolve, an MRI can be considered to rule out disc disease or spinal stenosis among others.
