Receding gums: If the receding gums is due to calculus formation and you have periodontal pockets, without professional treatment, it will only continue to get worse. If your gums are healthy- just use a soft toothbrush, circular motion and dental floss after meals. Consider at least a check-up and cleaning or dental school clinic if nearby for reduced fee care.

Toothbrush?: Make sure that you are using a soft bristle toothbrush. Do not use a scrubbing motion. You might also consider a night guard if you are grinding your teeth st night.
