In 4-6 weeks: Your symptoms should improve and be fully resolved in one or two weeks of Nexium (esomeprazole) treatment. Most of gastritis cases heal their stomach in 4 weeks. So you could stop this medication after 4 to 6 weeks. Any recurrence of symptoms should be reported to your treating doctor.
