Clefts: Incidence of cleft lip/palate is less then 1 in 1,000 live births, so chances of a repeat are small. Important that your 1st child be followed by a Pediatric Dental Specialist until at least age 7, and by both a Pedodontist and an Orthodontist from 7th birthday onward. Surgical repair of clefts and history of microdontia indicates that your 1st child will need extensive Orthodontic care.
