Multiple reasons: Nighttime tachycardia= several reasons. Just lying down increases the amount of blood your heart has to distribute and will cause it to speed up some. Certain nighttime meds can cause the heart rate to speed up. Anxiety and panic attacks could also be the cause, also eating right before bed. I am glad you are wearing a heart monitor, the more serious reasons will be easier to isolate that way.
