If your cardiac function by echo 6 months ago was normal, then you are unlikely to have heart failure now, unless something has intervened-like a virus affecting the heart, a medication/drug adversely affecting the heart, etc. You could also have leg circulation issues causing the edema. Compression stockings and elevation may help if this is the etiology. Good luck!
