Entoptics: You are probably seeing a normal phenomenon in which you can actually see the white blood cells in the central circulation of your retina tracing lines in the field of vision. This is best seen against a clear blue sky or a flat painted lightly colored wall. It is normal and is termed entoptics.

Could be floaters: Opacities in the vitreous gel that fills the eye are enhanced when the light is bright and diffuse, and are called floaters. Patients who notice floaters for the first time should have a retinal exam to make sure that there are no associated retinal tears or other problems.
