probably scar: After a surgery your body will quickly develop a thick scar which in time will thin out. Probably feel scar tissue.

Discuss with MD: It could be the hardware that was left or a callus of bone resulting from the hardware. If it is bothering you cosmetically or physically, should be reviewed with the orthopedic surgeon that did the procedure.
