no: If no underlying medical reason (medication, etc) then no. Some research is actually advising against it but you should discuss this in more detail with your dr.

Not essential: If you are eating a well balanced diet, fruit, vegetables, meat, dairy, fish, legumes, grains etc. You do not need vitamin supplementation. People feel that vitamins are extra added insurance when they don't eat right.
