Tattoo Removal: Tattoo ink is placed beneath the top layer of skin. That makes tattoo removal more complicated and expensive than the original tattoo application. Scarring is likely after most types of tattoo removal. Infection or skin discoloration is possible as well. You can due laser surgery, dermabrasion, or surgical removal.

Tattoo removal: Lasers are used with good success however multiple treatments are required. Surgery can remove the tattoo and substitute a scar for the tattoo. Lasers can also change the color and texture of the skin. I would visit a plastic surgeon that has access to a laser as well as surgery to get a complete picture of what your options are.
