A member asked:

If im breastfeeding and have amebas can that be contagious?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not thru the milk: Amebiasis is passed through the stool to contaminate material the cysts come in contact with. As long as you practice good hand washing and do not contaminate your breast surface with stool water, the baby would not be exposed.
